What is the benefit of having a water filter in my fridge?
The 5231JA2006 A/B removes the following impurities from your drinking water:
- 99% of Lead, 91-99% of Mercury, 96% of Benzene, more than 99% of Cysts , 96% of herbicides, 99% insecticides, 97% Chlorine and more than 99% of particles of rust, sand, dirt and sediment (0.5 to 1 micron in size).
- It is also reported to improve the clarity of the water by up to 99%.
- This filter does NOT remove Fluoride.
- Overall, it provides better tasting and smelling water with improved clarity.
Changing the filter regularly in your ice/water refrigerator also reduces the build-up of scale in your ice-making mechanism thereby reducing the need for costly services.
The 5231JA2006A/B cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standard 42.
How do I install my new filter?
Installing your new water filter:
- Twist the old filter a ¼ turn counterclockwise.
- Pull the filter straight out and discard (The water will shut off automatically).
- Push the new filter into the fridge until it stops.
- Twist the filter a ¼ turn clockwise.
- Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one).
Resetting your "change filter" light:
- Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds.
