Are you having difficulty installing your replacement LG LT1000P-2 fridge filter?

This is likely occurring when the old filter cartridge disengages from the receiver before the receiver's inner locking mechanism has fully aligned with the opened position that is required to accept the new filter cartridge.

Re-align the receiver's inner locking mechanism using the following steps:

  1. Re-insert your old filter into the receiver and rotate it clockwise to the locked position.
  2. Push the filter towards the reciever with medium force and commence unlocking by turning the filter in an anti-clockwise direction. Maintain this force until the filter is in a position to be removed from the reciever, this should force the receiver's inner locking mechanism to be in a position to accept the replacement filter.
  3. Remove the old filter and insert the replacement filter, turning it in a clockwise direction to the locked position.

If this solution doesn’t work, it is possible that excessive in-line water pressure is preventing the receiver's inner locking mechanism from fully opening. If this is the case, relieve the water pressure by:

  • Turning off water supply to the fridge, and
  • Pouring a small amount of water from your fridge's dispenser to relieve pressure.

Once water pressure has been relieved, re-align the reciever's inner locking mechanism by following Step's 1-3.
